We identify ourselves as the William S. Daisy Company, a company of two employees – Mary Ann and Terry Lutz. We build reproductions of early 19th century American clocks, looking glasses, boxes and other items for museums and collectors of American historical decorative art.

clock Mary Ann, a juried member of the Historical Society of Early American Decoration, uses historically accurate methods to decorate our work. She does the reverse glass painting, eglomise (reverse glass etched gold or silver), stenciling, gilding and clock dial painting. Terry performs the wood working tasks including joinery, spindle turning, carving and veneering. We use the same basic raw materials found in two hundred year old antiques.

We recreate clocks once made by Daniel Tuthill, Benjamin Morrell, Daniel Hubbard, Isaac Youngs, Jeromes & Darrow, Luman Watson and Aaron Willard. High quality eight day mechanical German movements are routinely used. These premium brass movements are bronze bushed and the balance wheel movements have jeweled escapements. Optional movements by Charles Lenderman and David Lindow are available.

Many of our recreated looking glasses are interpretations of originals in our personal collection. We also offer decorated boxes, turned candle sticks, and gilded tin wine coasters.

Most of the items in are catalog are made-to-order, however we do have a limited inventory of small items available for immediate sale. All made-to-order items require a 50% deposit.
